He Finishes What He Starts

As we prepare to celebrate the Easter holiday, I am reminded of how great God’s love is for us. He chose to restore humanity to Himself through the birth of Christ, Luke 1:30-31 says, “But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus..”

Without Jesus coming to earth, we would not be able to be freed of the many things that hold us captive. Our true freedom can only be found in Him. He came to set us free but so many of us are unable to receive His gift. It may be doubt, fear, resentment, anger, bitterness that hold us in a prison and we just can’t seem to break away.

Friend, His Word is filled with promises and one that comes to mind is from Phillipians 1:6,

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Paul was writing this letter to the Church of the Phillipi while in prison. He knew with confidence that God wasn’t going to abandon him. The same confidence Paul walked with is the same confidence we should have. So whatever it is, cling to His perfect word, He will never leave or abandon you.
