The Longer The Chain - The More Children We Can Help. |

Welcome to our website where we are trying to help homeless children by building a paper chain across America – and we need your help! How it ALL started A week before my 9th birthday I saw something terrible on the way home from a soccer match - a family were living behind a dumpster - I couldn’t believe it. Although, it wasn’t my neighborhood, it wasn’t too far from my home, and because everyone counts, that night I told my parents that I wanted to do something for the people I had seen earlier. |

To my surprise , everyone I shared the idea with - Fr. Steve, my principal, my friends, my teachers, the student council – everyone wanted to help! it was really amazing. Within two weeks we had all the books of links printed, and the student council had organized the distribution and collection of the link books . Then the Young Vincentians put the all links together and Mr. Arpino counted the money - $2,750!
And you know what was funny - we actually ended up making two chains. The first was the paper chain of Love-Links, the second was the chain of people who all came together either by donating money or by working on the project. We would love if you could join with us too. Please think about it and thank you for visiting. Alanna Mahon |

“And what would like to do?” they asked me. I didn’t know right away, but the next day I had the answer, and that evening, as we sat down for dinner I told them, “I want to sell links in a paper chain and use the money to help the homeless family”. My parents thought that it was a good idea, but they also said it was too much work for me to do on my own and that I should ask for help. At first I was nervous about doing that—scared that other people wouldn’t feel the same way I did, but the more I thought about it the more I knew I couldn’t do it on my own.
